FINAL will be Wednesday 5/20

Here are the solutions to the first study guide that I gave you (50 questions).

Here are the solutions to the new study guide that I gave you  (30 questions).

Last test covering probability and conic sections will be Friday 5/15... Only the final left after this!!!!!

Bonus Easter Egg for people who came to the blog! There will be a bonus blank on the test tomorrow. If I hear anyone mention this out loud in class then no one gets the bonus. Shhhhh! Write the word "Coffee" in the blank to earn your bonus points :)

Probability Video Clip to help if you're confused.

Don't spend time memorizing the description for a deck of cards! I'll put it on the board during the test!

Solutions to Circles/Parabolas Study Guide (remember that #s 12 & 13 won't be on the test in addition to a few others)

Straight forward video on how to graph circles
Video on finding vertex, focus and directrix of a parabola
Video Clip - Writing an equation in Stnd Conic Form given only the focus and directrix

Unit 2b Test will cover graphs of quadratic equations and is currently scheduled for ??

Solutions to Review
Number 14
Number 16

Video Clip of finding the vertex of a parabola from standard or vertex form. (Backwards writing girl)

Long Video - Slightly different take on graphing quadratics from standard form, but I like it. On the other hand, this math teacher might be the most annoying teacher on the planet, and I'm affraid I'm kind of like him. :\

Another video on analyzing graphs of quadratics.

The EOC will be taken via computer on Thu & Fri 5/7 and 5/8

Test 8 - Graphing Quadratic Equations (Test Thu, 4/23)

Solutions to Study Guide (don't forget that ALL solving will be on the test, not just quadratic formula)
Solutions to graphing quiz

Videos from class Wednesday
Solving by Factoring
Solving by Sqrt
Solving by Quadratic Formula

Video Clip of finding the vertex of a parabola from standard or vertex form. (Backwards writing girl)

Long Video - Slightly different take on graphing quadratics from standard form, but I like it. On the other hand, this math teacher might be the most annoying teacher on the planet, and I'm affraid I'm kind of like him. :\

Test 7 - Solving Quadratic Equations (Partial Test on Friday 4/3)

Solutions to the new study guide that I gave you in class today!

Blank Study Guide if you'd like.

Teach Me how to Factor Video

Some great stuff from Khan Academy on factoring.

Test 6 - Radicals, Polynomials, Complex Numbers, and Rational Exponents

Video Clip - How to multiply polynomials (less than 2min long!)

Video on Simplifying Powers of i.

Here's a video clip on multiplying complex numbers.

I like this video exploring properties of square roots... It's slow getting started, but it's good later. You can probably skip the 1st minute.

Vihart video on imaginary numbers, "I used to exist in a simple world..."

The review for the first test.
And the Solutions.

Test 5 - Properties of Circles will be Tuesday, 3/10

Study Guide Solutions:    Page 1        Page 2

Video on Angle Relationships:
Angles on the circle This might have more info than you need. As far as angles go, you need to be able to use inscribed angles, central angles, wanna-be inscribed angles, and tangent-tangent angles.

Our 4th test will cover volume, and circle measurement. It is scheduled for Tue 3/3

Solutions to study guide

Video Clip for converting between degrees and radians. Which is what we covered on Wednesday.
It's the backwards-writing girl. She goes a little more into it than I did. She has info below the video on how to skip to exactly what you need.

3rd Test covering trigonometry will be Tue, 2/10
Blank Copy of the Study Guide
Solutions

Here's a video covering the very basics of trigonometry.
A video on using trig to solve a simple problem
A video on  using trig to solve word problems.
A video on simply finding trig ratios (just watch the first 5min)

The 2nd test will cover triangle congruence, special triangle segments, and parallelograms. Currently Scheduled for Thu 1/29

Blank Copy of the study guide.
Solutions to the study guide

Some video clips that might help!
4min clip on SSS & SAS
5min clip on ASA & AAS
a clip covering HL

Here's a longer clip, but it really does a good job explaining how to write a congruence statement.

And another one. Super annoying guy discusses ASA, AAS & HL.

First Test covering the basics of geometry (angle relationships and similar figures) will be Friday 1/16

Video Clip - using similar triangles to set up and solve proportions. An EZ example followed by some more difficult problems.
Video clip on the Exterior Angle Theorem - She's awfully boring, but it's only a minute and a half
And this guy on the more basic angle relationships (vertical, linear pairs, complementary, supplementary).
I'll put his videos up a lot, because in spite of being annoying, his stuff is really good.

Blank Study Guide in case you weren't in class or lost yours.
